This novel has the perfect blend of romance, mystery, and supernatural intrigue that captivated me from the very first page. Set within the hallowed halls of an exclusive literature class, the story follows the journey of our protagonist as she navigates the complexities of academia, friendship, lust, and the stirring emotions of first love.

It would be probably impossible to write a review without revealing some twists, so if you really wanted to read this book without any spoilers you can stop here. If you don’t mind, then here we go!

What truly sets An Education in Malice apart is its unique twist on the vampire genre. Just when I thought I knew where the story was headed, Gibson expertly introduces a thrilling element of supernatural intrigue with the revelation that the teacher is a vampire and the classmate is her blood donor. This unexpected twist adds a layer of suspense and danger to the narrative, keeping me on the edge of my seat as the protagonist delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding her school and her classmates.

Despite the supernatural elements, at its core, this novel is a story about self-discovery, acceptance, and the power of love. The protagonist’s journey of coming to terms with her own desires and identity is both poignant and empowering, serving as a powerful reminder that sometimes the greatest challenges we face are the ones within ourselves.

Overall, An Education in Malice is a spellbinding tale and with the author’s masterful storytelling and compelling characters make this a must-read for fans of YA fiction and paranormal romance alike.
