fall must-haves BOOKS

Here are some of my favourite reads during the Fall season, I would always go back to them no matter what.

  1. The Picture of Dorian Gray : an all-time favourite of mine, I have described my love for this book in this post. If you want to embrace that dark academia in a fall atmosphere, what’s better than to read about the aesthetics and the philosophy of these characters?
  2. The Hollow Ones by Guillermo Del Toro: Reminds me of The Thing, this book is not the best read but it’s ver enjoyable on a cozy night where you’re looking for some suspense and paranormal touch.
  3. A Darker Shade of Magic by VE SChwab: Magic and Chaos again in this masterful novel bringing by one of the best storytellers out there.
  4. Foundation by Isaac Asimov: The best trilogy of all trilogies, a science-fiction like no other and it built up smartly and neatly between the novels. If you’re looking for some more science heavy and politics with an original concept this Fall, I would totally recommend this book.

What books would you add to your Fall essentials ?

To add to the Gothic nature, I love the original Dracula and Frankenstein as well.

I really really want to read The Picture of Dorian Gray, it sounds perfect for the atmosphere! I tried listening to it twice on audiobook but in general the medium just doesn’t work for me so I this time I’m going to find a copy.

I’m not sure I’ve ever thought about seasonal books, and I don’t reread often enough to have favorites for seasons. But I would very much like to finally read Asimov’s classic, Foundation. I have it, just need to sit down and make the time. I’m also curious to try The Picture of Dorian Gray.

I just looked up The Hollow Ones on Amazon, the X files vs Ben Aaronovitch, plus you mentioned The Thing, I’m definitely giving it a go!
