Home Workspace Tour

Hi y’all 😀

I want to share with you for the new year my new renovated home office, where I stack my books and study for exams. It’s not easy being a student and having so many projects at the same time. But somehow, I love being surrounded by projects. Nothing drives me more than challenges after challenges and I decided to make this year even more productive than last year. I’m starting my psychology bachelor this year and beside that, I have Bookidote, 2 jobs as research assistant, administrator for the obsessive compulsive disorder association and some volunteer projects along the line. As you can guess, organization and time are both precious to me haha. In order to get everything done, I have to know my limits and set realist goals.

Why a home office so special and unique ?

Because it’s where you will keep everything you are working on, studying, spending time doing that last minute essay. You will need a place that can give you the concentration, the focus, but also be comfortable. The efficiency of the learning process depends on the place you are working, whether you like it or not, it is true.

a few tricks for the most efficient study/working place:

1.Be sure to find a quiet and well lit place. Yes. This one is really important and this is the reason why I have so much light in my office LOL.

2. Have a comfortable chair but especially one that is ergonomically designed. It can help you increase your focus if you are working long hours in a project.

3. Download some Self Control app on your phone so you won’t touch your phone for 3 hours. Yes that kind of stuff exist haha it will not allow you to check your Facebook messenger, snapchat, instagram, any apps that can distract you from your work.

I’m a really lazy person, like no joke (go ask my boyfriend how lazy I can be). And if I can do as many things, I am sure anyone can do it too LOL. So I hope this little post can inspire you for the new year to be creative, productive, to not give up, to work  your ass off but also take time for yourself.

Don’t be afraid to create your own projects, set your own goals !

Before leaving, I want to shout out to WeWork for giving the idea to create this post. You should check them out!  Besides beautiful spaces, they also offer tons of benefits and discounts for people who freelance, run their own business or are looking in to creating a startup!

Trang thanks for the inspiring post! I begin student teaching 8th grade literature this spring as I complete studies for teaching certification of English Lit, grades 7-12; remain a F-T mom for 2 extremely busy teenagers, take on a volunteer VP roll, all while marketing my first novel (which you all reviewing soon!) and completing the draft of the sequel. Somewhere in there, I will attempt to remain a calm and loving wife, (lol!! Ask him in a month!) I do truly appreciate your encouraging post! Bookidote is one of the few blogs I read regularly. Your witty, fun personality rings through, always a highlight for my day. Have a great 2016!

I don’t have a home workspace because we simply don’t have enough room right now for that, but I do have a classroom and I can totally apply some of this advice to that. That’s where I do most of my work anyway. 🙂 Great post!

Ohh I see 😀 That’s nice! I think classrooms are really important since the students will be spending a lot of time in there 🙂 It’s my pleasure to be able to help you! Happy New Year ! -Trang
